One of the first steps to creating your own blog is reserving a domain name and setting up a hosting service. In this article, I‘ll walk you through the process of reserving a domain on Namecheap and using it to launch a WordPress blog on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

Step 1: Reserve a Domain on Namecheap

1. Visit Namecheap’s website: Go to https://www.namecheap.com/.
2. Search for a domain: In the search bar, enter your desired domain name and hit “Search.” Namecheap will display a list of available domain extensions, along with their respective prices.
3. Choose your domain: Select the domain extension you prefer and click on “Add to Cart.”
4. Review your order: Click on the shopping cart icon at the top right corner of the page to review your order. Verify your domain selection and the duration of registration.
